How it works and how long it takes.
1. Grind and profile the slab so the primer bonds.
2. Seal cracks and level low spots for a smooth, seamless base.
3. Apply a primer coat and let it set.
4. Layer metallic pigments by hand to build the marbled, one-of-a-kind effect.
5. Finish with a clear topcoat that protects the color and adds gloss.
Total time. A typical room takes 1 to 2 days, including cure. The metallic layer is applied by hand, which takes longer than a solid color. Cure to full traffic is 24 to 72 hours.
What changes it. Time varies with square footage, the number of colors, and the number of coats. A larger room or a multi-color design adds time.
